We as trustees have paid for all the running costs of the charity so far and will continue to do so.

Here is a brief history of who we are, our future aims and what we have done so far.

We started forgotten Orphans in 2013 because we wanted to help orphans around the world directly and with 100% of the money going to its intended target. Our aim was not to only have direct contacts with the orphans/ orphanages but also to have someone independent in the area to verify the use of funds.

We initially started with a growing and known orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya called ‘Mama Fauzia children's home’. We already had contacts in Nairobi so it was a good start.
The funds sent regularly not only pays for some of the day to day running costs but also the children's education. which is extremely vital for their future.

We also decided earlier this year to help re build their dilapidated playground. This was done with the help or our 'twitter friends' (Adam and co) and the brilliant boxers who signed items to raise money. The money raised was sent to our contact in Nairobi who is overseeing the project.
This money was raised separately to the orphan fund which was still benefiting the children.

The second was in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina where we not only found a very good contact who was initially our interpreter but with their help found a small orphanage. We now fund individual orphans and widows who have children that may be given up to homes if we didn't help.
Our representative on the ground has local knowledge and helps us find orphaned children, poor widows with children. Also those that may be given up to children homes due to poverty.

Our journey as a charity is still developing. Our long term plans are to find a lot more children to help.

We have plans in the pipeline to educate and train widows with labour skills so they can feed and look after their own families. This will be achieved by setting up local workshops in impoverished areas teaching local skills.

An after school skills programme will also be set up for the older orphans so they have a way of supporting themselves as soon as they leave the orphanage. We will try joining the two projects to benefit both groups at the same time.

The above plans will help reduce the amounts of children going to homes Heartbreakingly these numbers are rapidly increasing year on year.

We are a small charity that benefits many children. we are appealing for more kind and regular donors the likes we have had, so that we can grow and make a much bigger difference.

Finally our team couldn't stand by and do nothing when Bosnia was hit by devastating floods last year. Not only did it increase poverty and hunger but it also had the potential of creating more orphans on the streets something we are desperately trying to avoid.

We took it upon ourselves to raise money through friends and family to help. That way the orphan fund was untouched and still benefiting the children it intended to 
Our team in Bosnia worked tirelessly to get the help to where it was needed. We are proud of them!

We have raised well over our target of £5,000!

Our Registration with the charity commission is under way :-) hopefully they will look at the good works we have done and help us in our future goals.

We can't thank our donors enough as without your help we wouldn't be able to support these Orphans.
Again our aim for this year is to find more Orphans to help, especially in areas where others have forgotten about or cannot support..... That's why we're called ‘Forgotten Orphans’.
